How acupuncture works as a cure for infertility is still debatable. Many practicing acupuncturists assert that this ancient treatment normalizes the body’s system. they claim it increases blood flow into the vital organs and stabilizes hormonal activity. The general outcome is enhanced ovarian function in females and a higher sperm count in males.Acupuncture benefits women positively, particularly those who are undergoing fertility boosting therapies. Some also say that acupuncture, when incorporated with rather stressful fertility procedures, helps women relax. Findings of recent studies show acupuncture’s ability to increase the conception rate in women who opt for in vitro fertilization (IVF),Etc...

Is this true? No, Not really......One research says

Latest research from Reprod Biomed Online
Acupuncture performed at the time of embryo transfer does not improve the pregnancy or live birth outcome after treatment.[1]

And another one
There was no statistically significant difference in the clinical or chemical PRs between both groups. Patients undergoing true acupuncture had differing sensory experiences compared with patients in the sham arm. There were no significant adverse effects observed during the study, suggesting that acupuncture is safe for women undergoing ET
[3]
Results suggest that acupuncture administered in relation to embryo transfer has no effect on the outcome of IVF and ICSI[4]

And the area of infertility that is not affected positively by acupuncture for male infertility are sperm deaths and sperms that are immature which showed no difference pre and post use of acupuncture for infertility.[2]

Yes, We have to ask...
How much negative evidence is enough to state with reasonable confidence that acupuncture is not effective for infertility? Assuming that many acupuncturist earn their money by using an unproven treatment ,is this all right?
